Solar Stat Removable/Reusable Window Tint
Solar Stat Removable/Reusable self-clinging window tint is the Do-It-Yourself solution for your entire window tint needs. Enjoy the many diversified uses of this exciting product, such as conserving energy, blocking out damaging U/V rays and helping to prevent interior shattering of glass. Solar Stat does it all.

What Is Solar Stat?
Solar Stat is a flexible poly chloride vinyl window tint that adheres through the use of static electricity without the need for glues and/or permanent adhesives.

Is Solar Stat Different From Conventional Window Tint?
Yes! Solar Stat is a 6.5mil PVC vinyl that is removable and reusable. No more need for glues and adhesives; permanent if you want it to be yet removable if you wish it to be. It virtually eliminates unsightly air bubbles that can cause adhesive films to crack and peel. It is applied and maintained with ordinary household window cleaner.

How Do I Apply Solar Stat?
Application is as simple as 1-2-3-4. Measure the window and cut the film to size. Apply to a clean, wet surface, squeegee out the excess air and moisture, then trim to fit. Unlike adhesive films, there is not front or back to Solar Stat. Once properly applied and trimmed, Solar Stat will stay in place until you decide otherwise.

Can I apply Solar Stat Over Existing Window Film?
Yes, as long as there are no existing scratches or bubbles, Solar Stat can be applied without concern of damaging the existing film's surface. Make sure, however, that the existing film can be cleaned with household window cleaners. Many films are adversely affected by ammonia based products. Solar Stat is not. If your existing film must be cleaned with a soapy water solution, use that to also apply Solar Stat.

Can Solar Stat Be Applied to Thermal or Double Pane Windows?
Yes, with exterior application. It is highly recommended that film of any type not be applied to the interior of thermal (or double pane) windows to avoid excessive heat build up within the center of the panes which may cause thermal stress.

Can Solar Stat Be Applied to Plastics?
Yes, with interior application. Solar Stat can be applied to any type of plastic or poly carbonate surface with interior application. Please check with your window manufacturer regarding the use of ammonia based products on such windows before using household window cleaners. If recommended, use a soapy water solution for application to plastics. Solar Stat will also adhere to curved or molded windows, regardless of the shape.

How Do I Remove Solar Stat?
Simply lift a corner and peel back the film. It is recommended that the paper and packaging be saved for removal and storage, clearly mark each window for re-application.

How Durable Is Solar Stat?
Extremely! Solar Stat is manufactured and tested to withstand the most extreme weather conditions and temperatures, even in the most violent and unexpected of circumstances. Solar Stat will also help to prevent interior shattering of glass. Backed by a limited 5 year warranty, Solar Stat will help to reduce 60% of the solar energy and 97.6% of the U/V rays which is a major cause of flooring and furniture fading and damage.

Where Can I Use Solar Stat?
Solar Stat's usage is limited only to your imagination. Ideal for homes, autos, vans, boats, recreational vehicles, sunroofs, solariums and skylights.

Glass Hazards

Glass is one of the strongest materials manufactured by man. If it is without flaw, it will bear many times its own weight and will expand freely when heated by solar or room heat. Any amount of increased heat absorption that could result when films are installed on certain types of glass may cause sufficient additional stress against pre-existing glass flaw or glazing restraints to cause failure. However, the application of window film alone cannot cause glass to fail. There must be some type of flaw not visible to the naked eye within the manufacture of the glass.

Glass breakage is not a significant concern within the window film industry and the occurrences of breakage is so minimal that it is impossible to calculate. It can be safely stated that the amount of glass failure where window film has beeen involved is significantly less than 1/10th of 1 percent for all films installed. Since most of the pre-existing flaws or expansion and contraction restraints that cause failure are not visible, this Glass Hazards is provided to identify some of the contributing elements learned from experience throughout the film industry.

Please remember, window film does not break glass. It can, however, reveal or accelerate any inherent defect that is in the glass and may not manifest itself for years to come. There are typical characteristics that can exist in almost any type of glass, window construction and some glazing techniques (methods of installing the glass). Some of the characteristics may be obvious while others are not.

  • An "inclusion" is a flaw, usually invisible, within the glass itself. It weakens the strength of the glass and its ability to thermally expand and contract without failure.

  • A chip or scar on an edge of the glass is a weak spot from which a fracture can originate. If the edges are known to be "factory cut" the likelihood of this accurrence is reduced.

  • If the glazing or sealing compound (putty, glazing, etc) hardens, it can become an obstruction to the normal thermal expansion of the glass.

  • If the glass is set against a rigid obstruction, such as a wall, nail, or other rigid surface, this can also prevent normal thermal expansion and contraction.

Solar Stat's Policy: Due to the difficulties in determining pre-existing flaws that may be evident but not visible, use of any Solar Stat product is based upon the purchaser's sole determination of suitability. Solar Stat itself shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to glass breakage and/or seal failure.
